Bill of Rights for families who use SSAH
|
|
- During 2003 members of the SSAH Provincial Coalition met with board
members from Family Alliance Ontario to discuss issues which families
face in their quest to receive Special Services at Home for their sons
and daughters.
|
- Families have been using SSAH since 1982 and find it the most
desirable program of choice.
|
- It often serves a double purpose . SSAH gives their family, respite
and their child, individual support services at the same time.
Families have found these services to be the ultimate answer the their
question of needed support as their children grow.
|
- In this meeting parents discussed the many advantages of SSAH as
well as the many struggles they encountered.
It was decided that the SSAH PC would develop and write a ' Bill of
Rights for families who use SSAH ' .
|
- After consultation with many families and advocates for SSAH a
document has been written and approved.
